Ashbourne Show is a traditional country and agricultural show, providing entertainment and interests in a friendly atmosphere which makes for a great day out for all the family. We pride ourselves on maintaining high entries in Shire horse, cattle, sheep, goat and light horse classes, with around 150 quality trade stands and excellent Crafts Tent and Food Hall. The main ring is busy all day with entertainment including this year, Jamie Squibb Freestyle Motocross and Katie Cropper’s working sheepdog display. Finally, relax with a bite and a cuppa at the food mall or in the bar.
Visit the displays from local branches of the WI, Ashbourne Vintage Tractor Club, Young Farmers and Ashbourne Camera Clubs, pop in at the Goat tent or enter the competitions in the Handicraft and Horticulture marquee, including Pets and Poultry, not forgetting the Dog show around lunch time. Shop at the trade stands, from a new tractor down to some ‘wellie‘ boots, both practical or for fashion. Find some truly delicious food in the Food Hall. For our younger visitors, have a go on the Total Hire Digger, watch Punch and Judy or jump on the Bouncy Castle.
The Shire Ring, hosts the Shire judging during the morning and Dog Show at lunchtime. The main ring has Show Hunters in the morning and later in the day displays by Jamie Squibb Freestyle Motocross and Katie Cropper’s working sheepdogs. The Grand parade of winning animals at about 3.15 p.m. is the highlight of the afternoon. Rings two to five in the Light Horse field have a wealth classes for horses and ponies, in hand, ridden hunter, side saddle, hacks and retired racehorse to riding horse to name but a few.
2015 will be the 124th Ashbourne Show and we pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of entries in our livestock and all horse classes, together with over 150 quality trade stands, food hall and craft tent exhibitors.
